YOUTH CONCERTO COMPETITION

The Delaware County Symphony (DCS) offers young musicians (in grades 9-12) of outstanding talent the opportunity to audition for its annual youth concerto competition. The winner of the competition will be awarded prize money and perform a work for solo instrument and orchestra during the May Symphony Series concert.

Last year's winner, Samuel Kim, performed Haydn's Cello Concerto in C Major with the orchestra on our May concert. This year's competition winner is Sophia Nam (pictured below). She will be performing William Walton's Concerto for Viola and Orchestra at our May 7th concert. You can read all about Sophia on our Soloists page! We would also like to give an honorable mention to two other outstanding musicians; Kai Freeman, on violin and Loo Kwanchi on cello! Thank you to everyone who sent in an application and an audition recording!!
