Do you have an affinity for a particular musical instrument? Would you like to give recognition to a special person in your life or to a musician who has assumed a leadership role in the orchestra? Then consider sponsoring a chair held by one of the DCS principal musicians. Chair sponsorship is a direct way for you to connect your passion and your donation to a specific person or position within the DCS.
Chair sponsorship is a very visible show of support, as the donor’s name appears next to the sponsored musician’s name in concert programs and on the DCS website. Chair sponsorship also affords the opportunity to establish a special connection with the musician who occupies your chair. Beginning at $250, you can sponsor a musician’s chair in the DCS. The following levels of sponsorship are for one year. Multiple year sponsorship's are available at discounted rates.

Robert F. Sweeny Chair
The Delaware County Symphony is proud to announce the naming of our Principal Cello Chair in memory of long-time cello player, Robert F. Sweeny. Robert played with the DCS for over 30 years, and his dedication and talent have had a lasting impact on our organization. His family is deeply honored by this recognition, and the entire orchestra is thrilled to be able to pay tribute to such a beloved member. We hope the Robert F. Sweeny Chair will serve as a testament to his contributions to our orchestra, and will be a lasting reminder of his life-long love of the arts.
Arnold N. Ostroff Chair
The Delaware County Symphony is proud to announce the naming of our Principal Percussion Chair in memory of long-time orchestra member, Arnold N. Ostroff. ‘Arnie’ played piano and percussion with the DCS for over 40 years, and was the featured soloist 17 times. He was also a longstanding board member, serving in many capacities, including president. His talent and dedication to the orchestra continue to have a lasting impact. We hope the Arnold N. Ostroff Chair will honor his memory and serve as a reminder of all he has done for the Delaware County Symphony.
Sylvia Elwood Chair
The Delaware County Symphony is proud to announce the naming of our Principal Second Violin Chair in honor of long-time orchestra member, Sylvia Elwood. Following a distinguished tenure of over 40 years in the violin section, Sylvia recently retired from the orchestra. Her nephew, Robert Elwood, is proud to sponsor this chair as he remembers fondly coming to DCS concerts to hear his aunt play. We hope the Sylvia Elwood Chair will celebrate her remarkable dedication to the orchestra and her enduring passion for orchestral music.
