The Delaware County Symphony is a seventy-member community orchestra, established in 1976, and dedicated to providing outstanding musical experiences for residents of the Delaware County, Pennsylvania area. The symphony strives to inspire greater appreciation for classical music among residents of the community, and broaden the musical experience of the audiences and performers through exposure to a varied repertoire. |
|
The Delaware County Symphony performs four full symphony concerts each year, typically with soloists. Concerts feature works from the standard repertoire, as well as some unfamiliar compositions (including American and world premieres). The Delaware County Symphony also presents four chamber concerts a year, featuring works for smaller ensembles, which showcase the more experienced members of the orchestra as well as guest soloists. Performances are given at the Neumann University Meagher Theatre, the Thomas A. Bruder, Jr. Life Center, at One Neumann Drive, Aston, Pennsylvania (view map). |
